Alternative exit points
While the original Arctic Circle Trail connects Kangerlussuaq and Sisimiut, there are now several options for hikers wanting to expand their adventure or make it shorter.
The tour operators listed below provide pick-up and drop-off services for the different access locations. If you need an unexpected pick-up from the trail (see our page on SAR events and self-rescue), be sure to save the contact numbers of those servicing the middle of the trail in your two-way emergency communication device.
Kangerlussuaq
- Point 660 – walk / car transfer along the gravel road. Exact location along the road to be discussed directly with operator
- Russell Glacier – Hike the Ice Ridge Trail, or walk / car transfer along the gravel road. Exact location along the road to be discussed directly with operator
- Kangerlussuaq – Hike the Kangerlussuaq Ridge Trail, or or walk / car transfer along the gravel road. Exact location along the road to be discussed directly with operator
- Kellyville – the ACT veers of the ATV track soon after it begins. walk / car transfer along the gravel road. Exact location along the road to be discussed directly with operator
Middle of trail
- Eqalugaarniarfik – boat transfer back to Sisimiut. Exact pickup/drop-off location depends on tides. Discuss directly with operator. You will need to be at the water.
- Sarfannguit – boat transfer back to Sisimiut from the Southern Route. Exact pickup/drop-off location depends on tides. Discuss directly with operator. You will need to be at the water.
- Kangerluarsuk Tulleq Nord – boat transfer back to Sisimiut. Exact pickup/drop-off location depends on tides. Discuss directly with operator. You will need to be at the water.

Sisimiut – via ATV track (original trail) or Oqummiannguaq Trail. A transfer to Kangerluarsuk Tulleq may become available once the ATV track is opened (2026)
