Some of the numerous lakes and rivers along the Arctic Circle Trail offer the possibility of catching fish – particularly Arctic Char. While we would not recommend that you rely on this as a primary source of food, it is a great way to relax after your day’s hike if you enjoy the sport.

If you do plan to try your hand at fishing, make sure you purchase your Greenlandic fishing license first at the Post Office (Tusass) in Kangerlussuaq or Sisimiut. More information can be found on the  Municipality website (Danish only. Right-click on the page and choose “Translate to …”)
